The experiment of mass transfer was studied in a height of 4m, diameter of 750mm stainless steel column with 4 trays using cyclohexane-normal heptane as system. The factors of hole area percent, outlet weir height and F factor affecting the mass transfer efficiency of cross-type valve trays were investigated in total reflux and normal pressure. The results showed that the mass transfer performance of tray with 11.2% hole area is the best one among the 8.22%,11.2%,13.56% and 15.69% hole area. When the weir height is raised from 30mm to 50mm to 70mm, the tray efficiency and overall column efficiency are increased for 5-10% in the froth regime; but the weir height have little effect on the tray efficiency in the spray regime. With the same hole area percent, the mass transfer efficiency of cross-type valve tray is between the Fl value tray and ADV valve tray, and it was a little worse than the combined directed valve tray according to the comparation experiment. Moreover, based on a lot of experimental data, AIChE and Chen, Chuang models were involved to calculate the tray efficiency, and the AIChE model is closer to the experimental value of tray efficiency. The deviation was less than 8%.
