In this paper, several common wear-resistant materials of their abrasion property and wear mechanisms was analyzed in the actual working conditions, by simulating the scene in the lab working conditions. Abrasive wear and its several accompanying wear modes are the main reasons which cause equipment failure and scrapped. The economic losses can't be ignored. It is important for researchers to adjust the material composition and choose suitable materials by analyzing the wear mechanism of the materials.This paper discussed the following two aspects:First, abrasion machine is developed which was used under the condition of a low-stress scratching abrasion. Its working condition is mainly loose abrasive with certain pH on the vibration device. Wear effect of the machine was measured, and achieved satisfactory results. Second, in the four types of wear-resistant materials for high chromium cast iron,42Cr5, 2Crl3 and 18-8 stainless steel their wear resistance and wear mechanism were analyzed under the actual condition. By the orthogonal experimental analysis, three factors which affect wear resistance was studied, so as to arrive at the actual conditions of these materials'wear conditions.This provided a basis in the design of machinery equipment for selection of materials in the laterThe low stress scratching abrasion test machine is designed based on the concept of low-stress scratching abrasion. The so-called low-stress scratching abrasive wear is that the role of the sample of the abrasive force does not exceed the crushing strength of abrasive when abrasive contacts with the sample and the abrasive rolls from the sample surface. Because of the small stress, it is generally more shallow scratches on the sample surface. In the testing process the abrasive is completely loose, it is able to simulate the scene of the working conditions. The rotation rate is adjusted by the inverter, thus it could adjust the force between the sample and the abrasive. The testing machine runs very well, but there are some deficiencies. For example, the abrasive is easy to be crushed when the sample runs the bottom of the silo, so after a time it has to add the abrasive to the silo. The other is that the contact time is relativity short between the sample and the abrasive, because its have half circuit time in a circuit. These aspects need to be improved.The major conclusions of this paper are the following:First, the design of the wear test machine well simulated the spot of working conditions. This provided a basis in the design of machinery equipment for selection of materials in the later. Second, the wear resisting property of the high chromium cast iron is very excellent, however, it is not suitable for the sieve plate for its bad weld-ability, so it is generally used to make lining board; Third, although the hardness of 42Cr5 is second to the high chromium cast iron, its wear resisting property is bad under the abrasive with the pH. So it is generally appropriate for screening stem abrasive, which has an ideal effect; Fourth, for 2Cr13 stainless steel, it is no marked difference between the neutral and the acidity abrasive. So it is fit for the more complicated working conditions; Fifth, from the experimental results 1Cr18Ni9 stainless steel are the worst, no matter what kinds of working conditions. The main reason is that 1Cr18Ni9 stainless steel is not made the solution treatment, resulting in severe intergranular corrosion.In addition, because of its low hardness, the materials are also easy to wear in the dry abrasive.
