Slurry oil is one product of the fluid catalytic cracking (FCC). With the increase in demand for distillate fuels, refineries have incorporated more sophisticated processes in order to get more distillate fuels and also took the use of the slurry oil more seriously. Slurry oil can be used as recycle stock and the fuel. Burning slurry oil causes many problems. For example it can damage the nozzle, produce the ash erosion, reduce the heat exchange efficiency of the boiler and pollute the environment. These are all because of the catalytic fines in it. Making research on the separating of the catalytic fines in slurry oil is of importance to low energy consumption and reduce pollutants discharge. In order to dispose of the catalytic fines, the paper used microscopic and laser particle analyzer methods to determine the size distribution, analyzed the parameters which influence the centrifugal separation though qualitative and quantitative experimental methods. They include temperature, consistency and rotational speed. At the end make the experiment to measure the viscosity of slurry oil which changed with the temperature. Analyze the influence of working temperature and operating pressure on lectotype of centrifuge though the viscosity experiment. The feature of slurry oil are studied in the paper, and at the same time they provided the reference for the separation of the catalytic fines in slurry oil.
