Distillation experiment of dimethyl ether(DME)-methanol-water ternary system was studied in this paper, and the influence of conditions on this distillation was researched, a mathematical model was presented to research the distillation process on the basis of equilibrium stage theory as well.Distillation experiment of dimethyl ether-methanol-water ternary system is carried out in a tower with efficient bulk packing, the feeding liquid is fed into the middle of the packing section, and the effects of process parameters on the distillation of DME were investigated in operating pressure 0.55-0.95MPa, feed temperature 20-80℃, reflux ratio 0.1-0.6 and concentration of DME in feed 0.070516-0.135357. The results showed that the concentration of DME increases with the increase of reflux ratio, operating pressure and feed composition. feed temperature was advisable not more than 70 degrees.A mathematical model was presented to research the distillation process on the basis of equilibrium stage theory. The cyclical nested-iteration method in sequential convergence was developed for solving the model equation, since the liquid phase was non-ideal and the components had a big difference in boiling point under normal conditions. The results showed that the values from the model agree well with the experimental date.
