It is an important opportunity for ferrite industry as the rapid development and large-scale popularization of electronic communication technology. It raises a new challenge to precision machining of ferrite components as the rapid increment of information technology. The efficient production and precision machining of ferrite becomes dreadful necessity. For this reason, grinding experiments for ferrite under different process conditions were completed in this paper. The high efficiency and precision machining methods for ferrite were also searched .The main contents in this paper are as follows:(1)The grinding tests of ferrite were carried out using resin-bonded diamond grinding wheel. The grinding quality of ferrite was evaluated based on the surface roughness. The way of material removal of ferrite was analyzed based on micro surface topography. Grinding mechanism of ferrite was also demonstrated with "Indentation fracture mechanics model".(2)The grinding tests of ferrite were carried out with graphite grinding wheel. According to the process conditions, the variations of grinding force, surface roughness, material removal rate and surface micro-morphology were researched. It concluded that the high surface quality of ferrite material can be achieved by using the graphite grinding wheel.(3)In order to realize the precision grinding, the cutting thickness of a single diamond grain should be effectively controlled. Therefore, the manufacturing procedure of orderly-arranged monolayer diamond brazing grinding wheel was prepared. Then the preparation of a large grain brazing diamond grinding wheel was accomplished. A dressing equipment for single-layer brazed diamond wheel was designed and was used to dress the prepared wheel. It showed that the grinding wheel which was dressed owned good agreed height of abrasives according to analyze the wheel topography.(4)Grinding experiments of ferrite using single-layer brazed diamond grinding wheel were investigated. According to the analysis, the surface roughness of microwave ferrite ground by the large grit monolayer brazed diamond grinding wheel can reach Ra0.8μm.
