High surface quality and machining efficiency of hard and brittle materials such as singlecrystal silicon, stainless steel,tungsten carbide are required as the rapid development ofelectronic mechanical and optical materials. Electrolytic In-Process Dressing (ELID), whichcould achieve high efficiency and super-smooth surface, has been attached much importance inscience research and industry fields gradually.Metal bonded wheels is the main tool in ELID but it's difficult to produce and expensiveand could contaminate the clean surface of function materials. To solve these questions, thispaper puts forward a new bamboo charcoal bonded grinding wheel which has good performancessuch as easy produce, low cost, no pollution. Research the principium of ELID and new grindingfluid are the important parts of the paper. As follow are main works and achievements of thispaper.1. Analyzing the electrochemistry performance of bamboo charcoal bonded grinding wheel,it has good electric performance and can produce a passivation layer by electroanalysis. It's thebase to realize the technique of ELID.2. As the main factor of grinding, the performance of grinding fluid is very important. Find akind of good prescription from its anticorrosive, lubricate, cooling and electrolyse, make theprocess of grinding well.3. Found a model to forecast grinding fluid's electric performance by BP neural networkand software of MATLAB. 4. The new grinding fluid was used to grind stainless steel. It can get a good processingtechnic of grinding through many experiments.
