For the offshore oil and gas exploration and development on the demand for heavy duty coatings, epoxy resin-based material, ceramic fillers with different particle size on coating performance and the grading of cecramic filler was studied. The optimum ceramic particle size and volume of the best ceramic grading was determined. Epoxy ceramic coating has excellent adhesion. Coating has good adhesion is the foundation that coating can get a good anti-corrosion effect. A series of water-resistant was carried out including resistant to salt spray, resistant to saturated sodium chloride solution, resistant to brine and other resistance properties of integrated water-resistant. Extensive laboratory test date has been demonstrated that this coating can pass severe testing in aggressive environments. As the need for corrosion protection of oil tank, the project developed a new type of anti-static conductive anti-corrosion coating. In research and development process, while controlling the cost of raw materials, on the other hand choose static conductive mica flakes as conductive filler. Conductive mica flakes can extend the path of medium through the coating. Subsequently, improve the coating's resistance to penetration. From the mechanism, it solves the corrosion performance problems of the static conductive coating. In the course of the study, the conductivity of conductive filler and the packing of the conductive properties of corrosion are considered. Performance evaluation on a variety of corrosion resistance of coating shows that the developed coating not only has good conductivity, but also has good corrosion resistance. In this work two coating systems were applied on pre-rusted steel cleaned by different ways. The results show that sand-blasting to Sa2.5 level can effectively reduce the corrosion spreading of the coating's breakage. When the coating was destroyed, the different materials and coating systems to coating's defects in the spread of corrosion was not obvious. Therefore, to maintain coating integrity is an important part to extend the life of the coatings. It has been proposed that in-service coating should regularly be carried out assessments and maintenance to extend the life of coatings.
