The paper focused on the extraction and purification technology of itaconic acid from waste fermentation liquor.The separation and extraction of itaconic acid from fermentation liquid by using solvent extraction was studied.Firstly, through the contrast test of two extractants, it foud that basic extractant-A was better than neutral solvating extactant-B; Through the research of three modifiers on the effect of extraction, delamination-time,cycle-result, the element of the organic extractive phase was determined.Then the technics of extraction was studied. By using Kremser formula , the theoretical stages were 4,7,7 when the phase ratio were 1:1, 2:3, 1:2. Through measuring saturated extractive capacity,Simulated test of countercurrent extraction, the extraction technological proeess was fixed. And seven stages counter current extraction(O/A=3:1) wsa good while its extraction rate was 96.5%,and usage rate of extraction was 85%. Through the test of relation between temperature and distribution ratio, and calculation by using Vant Hoff formula, it showed thatΔH=-21.75 KJ/mol and temperature-increasing obstructed the extraction.At same time,the back-extraction of loaded-organic phase was studied.It found that the back extraction rate was 98% by using reagent M as back-extractant.Through calculating the stages of extraction,measuring saturated extractive capacity, Simulating countercurrent extraction,the extraction technological proeess was fixed,four washing stage and eight stage counter current extraction(O/A=3:1) was good while its extractionrate was 98.5%. The removing pigment by using active carbon column was studied.When the velocity of flow = 2 ml/min, diameter height ratio = 6,8,12,the result showed that: The diameter height ratio 8 was featable,and the amount of quality production was 50 mL while the lossrate of IA in this process was about 7%.By studying the effect of pH,concentration of extratant,saturated capacity on the Ditrabution ratio, it was preliminary conclution that ion-exchange between acidic extractant and back-extractant M was 1:1, which was different from the mechanism of extracting metal ions.
