The general movement model, the movement error model of NC machine toolsandthe relativemovement constraint equation isbuiltonthebasis of the theory of MBS. According to the necessary condition of precision processing and the essence of error compensation for NC machine tools (the practical cutter track of NC machine tools is equal to theory computed line of NC machine tools of the workpiece), the connection of the cutter line, the cutter track and NC coriuiand is established. On basis of which, the software of error compensation is developed and the error compensation is real ized by correcting NC program, which constitutes the new idea of error compensation. Correctly identifying the geometric error parameters is one of the most important precondition for error compensation. By using the method of error analysis of MBS, the identification equations of geometric error parameters is derived and according to the condition that the rank of coefficient matrix of error mesurement equation group must be full, we can get 18 terms geometry error of 3xses NC machine tools. For the sake of the safety of the machine and the cost of process, simulation of cutter movement of NC machine tools is necessary, which can be used to simulate the cutter line and the cutter track before and after correcting. Machine testing has testified the correct of the software error compensation. We have machined a roller by using the S?500 in the beiren company. The result shows that the accuracy of the roller is improved after the compensation.
