| Cutting mechanics of point-attack picks is studied in thedissertation. The origine of cracks is theoretically analysed andfurther research on the propagation of cracks is done with the highspeed photography technology. The development pattern of cracksis given.LB-3 low frequency multi-channel high precision datacollecting system is applied to measure the three dimension forcesduring the cutting. The formula of cutting force is given based onthe compressive strength. It is pointed that cutting process is astachastic process influenced by many factors. The caculation ofcutting force is access to the facts on the basis ofstatics. Theoretical, experimental value of cutting force arecompared. Cutting results are analysed under different conditions.
