Shearer depends on picks of drum broken coal, pick cutting performance will directly affect the efficiency of cutting coal and rock, and shearer’s machine performance. Aimed at exploring the high efficiency, low energy consumption of coal cutting method, quantitatively analyzing the mechanical properties of conical pick, this paper adopts experimental research, theoretical analysis and simulation method to analyze the effect of related factors on the cutting performance, probe the mechanical properties of duplex picks cutting coal and rock.According to the shearer cutting theory, the paper establishes a coal cutting test-bed. As a reference of compressive strength, complete the test simulation of coal wall. Clarify the relationship of experimental load and picks three-axis force.According to the experimental test axial load characterizes the size and regularity of cutting resistance. On the basis of test data, quantitatively analysis of pick tangential installation angle, cutting thickness on the influence of cutting resistance(axial load), and give the formula. Application of maximum likelihood estimate method analyzes the distribution of three types of picks lateral force. And points out the possibility of picks on spiral blades autogiration, the impact of pick lateral forces on the drum different position.Based on fractal geometry theory, give the algorithms of fractal characteristic(box dimension and proportional coefficient) which can characterize cutting performance. According to the experimental date, under different conditions of installation angle and cutting thickness, research the relationship between the pick box dimension, proportional coefficient and installation angle and cutting thickness. Based on the single factor experiment, by theoretical derivation is calculated as the research method, with the combination of experiment building conical pick specific energy model of rotary cutting coal and rock.A simulation on realization of duplex conical pick rotary cutting coal in the process using ABAQUS, analysis the broken forms of coal and rock under the effect of duplex picks, according to different cutting thickness and cutting pick spacing analysis duplex picks cutting performances, and give the cutting resistance. Analysis the effects of coupling of stress on cutting resistance according to different cutting thickness as well as cutting pick spacing, establish the matching relation between cutting thickness and cutting line distance. Compared with single pick sequential cutting, duplex picks improved the cutting performance.This study provides the reference for the design of efficient working mechanism of drum shearer and lay the foundation of realize the personalized drum design as well as force analysis of whole machine.
