Compared with other oxidation ditch process, one of the breaks of the Combined and Integrated Oxidation Ditch process (CIOD) is the notable effect of energy consumption saving. Xindou Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Demonstrated Engineer of Sichuan province has been running steadily for two years, which indicates: For wastewater plant on its ten thousand level, its electricity consumption is only 0. 195kwh/t. By means of debugging and running the Xindou Wastewater Plant, the experiment analyses the characteristics of its energy consumption. Because these characteristics are effected by each hydraulic function such as oxygen replenishment, promotion and mixture etc, the experiment aims at the hydraulic function under different energy distribution and makes tests towards these conditions.The experiment has tested and analyzed the velocity, DO and sludge distribution under different conditions of the rotor and submersed boosters. It also has studied the relations between the treatment effect, sludge deposit, sludge up-floating and the depth of oxidation ditch. On the basis of the hydraulic function test, the experiment has discussed the process characteristics of energy consumption in four aspects: From viewpoint of the process, it has analyzed the characteristics of sludge automatic return, inside hydraulic return and its influential factors. From viewpoint of practical operation, it has analyzed the favored combination, effect of energy distribution and way of operation; from viewpoint of equipment function, it has analyzed some existed question, then through renewing equipment and developing the feasibility of energy consumption saving , some preliminary tests have been made.The experiment, aiming at the characteristics of CIOD, has advanced an ideal denitrification and energy distribution model. The latter can be expressed like this: the velocity of ditch bottom is 0. lm/s;The average velocity in the ditch is 0. 3m/s;The average DO of solid-liquid separator is 0. 9 ~ 1. 2mg/l ;DO of pre-anoxic area in oxide section is 0.3 ~0. 7 mg/1; Inside hydraulic return rate is 250~300%. Because of the limits of theequipment function, the experiment has made some debugs under extreme conditions. After synthesized analysis, an operation model close to ideal has been determined.
