In this paper the treatment methods were introduced for dye wastewater and the advance were described in treating environmental pollutants by microwave irradiation.In this paper, research was studied about treating dye solution of Reactive Brilliant Blue KN-R by microwave irradiation in the presence of adsorption catalyst. The effect of many factors on decoloring rate of dye solution was investigated, such as the kinds of catalysts, the quantity of catalyst, the time of microwave irradiation and the radiant intensities of microwave. Decolorization kinetics and mechanisms of Reactive Brilliant Blue KN-R dye solution by microwave irradiation were also studied. The experiment results showed that the high decoloring rate and the fast decoloring speed were obtained when the solution of Reactive Brilliant Blue KN-R was radiated by microwave in the presence of adsorption catalyst. Decoloring reaction was first order kinetics. It was cooperation of microwave irradiation with adsorption catalyst that resulted in decolorization of dye solution. Many heat points could be produced on the surface of adsorption catalyst by microwave irradiation and their temperature was so high that the molecules of dye adsorbing on the surface of catalyst were oxidized and decomposed.
