Iron oxide pigment is a color pigment which it's basic substance is the oxide of iron, such as red iron oxide, black iron oxide, yellow iron oxide and brown iron oxide and etc. It's quantity of production and necessity is the biggest among the inorganic color pigments. There has been more that thirty years since iron oxide pigment is produced on industrial scales in china, However, compared with the same kind product of abroad, it's quality is obviously inferior. Aiming at solve some problems of industry, the paper has done some work as follows. At first, the principle of synthesis of iron oxide pigments including iron oxide yellow, iron oxide red and iron oxide black are explored. The conditions of synthesis of iron oxide pigments, such as concentration of iron sulfate ,value of pH,temperature, amount of air and dispersion tent of air in tank are investigated and optimized. The work done in this paper is of signification for the synthesis and control of the production processes of iron oxide pigment. The second, the production craft of black iron oxide is improved. using purified by-product of TiO2-ferrous sulfate and ammonia, we get qualified black iron oxide through the two-step means, which has obvious economy benefits. The production conditions of black iron oxide are optimized in the paper based on it's color and yield. In addition, the possibility of synthetic black iron oxide is assayed from the angle of heat mechanics the process of Fe(OH)2 converted into Fe3O4 is investigated from construction chemistry. Under the optimized synthesis conditions of black iron oxide, the dynamics of synthesis black iron oxide is assayed and investigated by using the knowledge of mathematics statistic. The results of this study have significant environmental and economical benefits and good potential for wide spread applications.
