Study On Preparation Of Serial Iron Oxide Pigments From By-product Of TiO₂-ferrous Sulfate

Iron oxide pigment is a color pigment whose basic substance is the oxide of iron,such as red oxide, yellow iron oxide, black iron oxide, and brown oxide. Micaceous iron oxide used for rust-proofing paint, magnetic iron oxide, and micaceous iron oxide pearlescent pigment which is made by covering micaceous iron oxide are also included in serial iron oxide.In the series iron oxide pigment, micaceous iron oxide, micaceous pearlscent pigment and transparent pigment have great value and pospective market, and can be prepared from ferrous sulfate the by-product of TiO2. But ferrous sulfate the by-product of TiO2 cannot be effectively used enough in our country over a long period. In order to solve above questions, the dissertation has done some works as follows:Firstly, the process of purifying by-product of TiO2-ferrous sulfate is studied. The craft and condition of the synthesis of micaceous iron oxide with by-product of TiO2-ferrous sulfate was studied through experiments. The factors affecting synthesis of micaceous iron oxide were discussed.Secondly, basing on the preparation of micaceous iron oxide, the caft and the condition of synthesis micaceous iron oxide pearlescent pigment is studied. The optimize conditions for preparing golden red, gold, purple, silver pearlescent are concluded.In addition, the principle of deposition during the process is analysed.At the same time, nanoscale iron oxide pigments are prepared successfully, the mechanism of the synthesis is studied.
