The research progress of the inhibitor of carotenoid biosynthesis are summarized in this paper and the development of herbicides of substituted phenoxy benzoic amides was introduced in brief.Eighteen new substituted phenoxybenzoic amides were synthesized and can be divided into two kinds as following according to their structure type:The synthetical condition and method of two kinds of title compound were studied. All of the title compounds were characterized by IR, 'H NMR, MS and elemental analysis.The spestroscopic properties of these compounds were discussed in detail.ln addition,the titlecompounds were tested for herbicidal activity and plant regulator activity,some compounds exhibited herbicidal activity.Most compounds showed higher stimulative activity in the growth of wheat and cucumber than IAA at 10 ppm.This paper also deals with the synthetical progress of O,O-dimethyl-a-hydroxyethyl-phosphonates which is a key intermediate of substituted phenoxy acetoxy alkyl phosphonates.The synthetical condition of O,O-dimethyl-a-hydroxyethyl phosphonates was studied and the optical reaction condition were summed up.The results showed that the reaction was affected obviously by catalyst,catalyst amount,temperature,time and sovent and the high yield can be obtained under the optimal reaction condition.
