The cold continuous rolling mill is the typical model of modernelectro-hydraulic and mechanical systems. Research on its simulation is necessary and important for both optimizing process control model and improving performance of production. Based on 2030mm cold continuous rolling mill in the Shanghai Baosteel Group Corp., this paper presents the simulation of its HAGC system. This simulation model, cooperated with other sub systems, constructs the complete model for rolling mill. Thus, according to it. the rolling process dynamic simulation of 5-stand cold continuous rolling mill can be done.Considering such factors as deformation and eccentricity of roller, the initial position of hydraulic cylinder, the plastic deformation of the strip and input gauge, as well as their effects on the thickness accuracy, and considering dynamic performances of hydraulic control systems, the electro-mechanical model of the machine set is established. In the course of building it, two rollers are simplified as a two-DOF string mass system, which is more identical with practical conditions than the one-DOF system. In order to improve model accuracy. Yule-Walker Identification Algorithm is implemented to identify off-line some parameters of HAGC system. The software utilizes Windows NT as its O.S. and uses MATRIXx simulation software to do simulation according to the model. What's more, SystemBuild tool that is built in MATRIXx encapsulates all advanced sub models. The results shows that constructions of models are regular, the interface of it is interactive and easy to operate.
