Corner joints design is an important factor in furniture structure design. And the strength of panel-type furniture is influenced by the property of corner joints. Simulated Stiffness (El) and strength are two key parameters of the property of corner joints which were varied by changing the connectors (pin dowel,glue and hardware),assemble forms (T-Type and L-Type) and substrate (medium density fiberboard and particleboard). At first,the value of elongate and corresponding load of various corner joint parts was tested by experiments. Then the Liner Regression and Material Mechanics were employed to analyze and calculate the Simulated Stiffness (El) and strength based on the data deduced from measurements on corner joint parts. The results of calculations and experiments showed that the property of corner joints on panel-type furniture was affected by terms of corner joint listed above.
