Sihu area is located on the north bank of middle reaches of Yangtze River. It is a typical part of Jiang-nan Plain which is often flooded and waterlogged. The low-lying topography and rich rainfall often lead most area of Sihu area flooded heavily. Rivers and lakes water's area in this region have gone through several times of expand and decline,water system and watercourses have transformed,following natural background and environment's evolvement. When it came into Neolithic Age,rivers and lake environment is interfered and influenced by more and more fierce human activities in its process of evolvement.In Sihu area,the evolvement of rivers and lakes is unstable,sensitive to human's effects,and influenced easily by all kinds of natural factors.The paper is based on systematology theory and means,qualitative and quantitative analysis,statistical information analyzing. Referring to many papers,historical literature,statistical data,we analyze the evolvement of rivers and lakes,and its driving forces in Sihu area from Holocene epoch,and discuss the interaction of its change and regional anthropogenic activities .We also systemically analyze the complexity and rules in their interrelationship. Furthermore,we study the benefit and harm of the water conservancy -Hardhanded driving force coming from human world.hi this paper,we give emphasis to modern human activities,including water conservancy building,to study them how to exploit and influence the rivers and lakes,and how to bring out the feedbacks of natural environment. The main points of the paper are:1. The environment changes of rivers and lakes directly influence social decision-making and economic policy. Anthropogenic activities' contents,forms and scale change actively or passively following them.2. The relationship of the river lake environment and anthropogenic activities is a dynamic evolutive process. Human activities characters change with tune,the development of ability in people's rational control to environment,and using efficiency to resources in different social times.3. Scientific system management,utilizing natural resource rightly,controlling population explosion,and so forth,is the key of system sustainable development.We found that overpopulation,the development of fishery and cultivation,waterconservancy are the most important factors to influence the rivers and lakes. Referring to the researched area's fact,we gave some countermeasure and advice about solving the regional problems of flood,waterlog,water and soil utilization. We expect to offer some help for the sustainable development in the system consisting of human society and environment of the rivers and lakes.
