| Land is the necessary basic condition of matter manufacture, and is the base for us to live and develop. Because the conflicts between land and population, land and environment, land and food supplies are increasingly pricking up, great attention is paid to the land problem all over the world. Those focuses are as follows: firstly, rural land is sharply reduced because of the development of industrial and other constructions. On the other hand, industrial and agricultural production has led to land degradation such as environment pollution, water and soil loss as well. Thirdly, the increasing pressure of environment problem on land will intensify the conflict between land and population, land and food supplies. Therefore, the problem of land scarcity will be one of important factors that restrict to the development of economics and society for a long time.Amdng all the factors that causes land degradation, the engrossment and the destruction to land resource in the steel industry and mining are not an ignorant aspect. The production of iron and steel, from mining, smelting to rolling, not only needs to engross a good supply of land resource but also leads to serious environment pollution. Today, sustainable development of society, economics, population, resource and environment is initiated. Studying into the actual influence of mining and the steel industry on land resource and studying on countermeasures are significant for the conservation of land resource, which will help to lead the steel industry to the sustainable developmental road. And what is more, this is also guidance for mass industrial departments to solve their land and environmental problems.Based on sustainable land use principal, the paper studied the challenging problem that is faced with in China's sustainable land use in order to find out the most standout problems in land use. Moreover, from the point of view of land care theories, suggestions and operable countermeasures are presented to optimize the collocation of land resource, zoologically resume destructive and contaminated land in the steel industry. Innovations or explorations in the text are as follows:1. Study on sustainable development theory and the stratagem of land preservation in the steel industry of China. In order to meet the needs of food and construction, the main task is to maintain a dynamic balance of cultivated land in our land management policy. One of the evaluation criterions of land use is whether to meet the human's increasing material and culture needs in extreme degree. In appearance, the standard is reasonable. In fact, our current land problem is owing to human's excessive material needs. Human's material needsis endless, but resource is limited. And more, the reduction and pollution of rural land caused by the economic growth have been one of the major factors of land degradation .If needs for slap-up villas and private cars are unconsciously encouraged by government, how do we deal with the problem of land resource scarcity? Therefore, we must build up correct ethical land use and relationship with nature, restrict the unreasonable life style and consume activity by the principle of sustainable development. We can regard 'protect infield land, control constructive land, and develop zoology land' as our land sustainable use stratagem, certainly the evaluation standards of good land use should be accordingly adjusted.2.study on land resource and surroundings of our country, especially in the steel industry and in mining.
