The focus of this paper is how to enhance the process accuracy of NC machine tools. Based on the main aspects of error compensation, some work has been done which includes making a general analysis and summation for the movement construction of 3~5 axes NC machine tools, building the general movement model and the movement error model of NC machine tools using the method of movement error analysis of MBS, resolving the inherent relationship of building the general error model which based on MBS and writing the general error compensation software, resolving the problem that computer resolves equation automatically, discussing the compensation method of 3 axes NC machine tools, writing general compensation software of 3 axes NC machine tools, using the method of software simulation and experiment validation to test the feasibility, the validity and the correctness of the model building method, computer resolving equation automatically and software error compensation discussed in this paper. 4×4 matrix is used to describe the MBS error analysis model for our more convenience. After analyzing arbitrary structure NC machine tools, from the point of organ kinematics,a conclusion is drawn that NC machine tools can be constructed by two parts, one is work-bed and the other is cutter-bed. And the general movement model is built. The problem of computer resolves equation automatically is pivotal for us to apply the general model to develop the general error compensation software, so we have discussed how computer can resole equation automatically with a lot of paper. The paper also discusses the calculation method of processing the error compensation of 3 axes NC machine tools and put forward the NC instruction compensation method towards the basis movement of NC machine tools.It is very important to write the error compensation software in order to make the technology of error compensation come into the real productivity. The program is written with VC++6.0 under Windows platform. The theory and software error compensation method have been testified by S-1500 NC Milling machine tools and the expected result is reached.
