The New Method Of Ausform Finishing Process For Hardened Gears

In this thesis, starting at analyzing the merits and demerits of precise finishing process of hardened gears after heat treatment which is used domestic ally and abroad at present, the thesis explains the feasibility and necessity of applying hot roll finishing technology and the key technology demanded of being solved, and a new technique which applies ausform finishing to hardened gears finishing is presented. It integrates heat treatment roll finishing and hardening of steel component into a single in-line manufacturing operation. With high precise roll finishing machine, the heating gear is hot roll finished. The hot roll finishing process plastically deforms the surface of a steel component, generates compressive residual stresses in the surface layer and inparts added strength and durability to the component. Hot roll finishing also creates the final net shape of the component and surface preciseness demanded can be met without the more costly traditional techniques of metal removal.
