Medical wastes come from the refuse in the process of medical diagnose and therapy. There are bacteria,virus,vermin and other harmful substance in the wastes. If not being disposed timely,they will pollute circumstance severely. Because of not being paid enough attention,medical wastes have been a cause of unhealthy of people.At present,the research of municipal solid wastes has been carried out widely. But the disposals of medical wastes do not start up. The paper gets the content of ash,moisture,volatilization,carbon etc by the industry analysis of medical wastes. Then discuss the combustion characteristic. The research shows that medical wastes have high content of volatiles and high heat value which is far higher than that of municipal solid wastes. The character of high content of volatiles indicates that the wastes can be ignited easily and can combust steadily. Compared with coals and municipal solid wastes,the paper gained the structure and parameters that need to be improved in the design of medical wastes incinerator.An incinerator is designed based on combustion characteristic of the medical wastes. And the incinerator is used to investigate and verify the character of wastes combustion and gas ejection in the factual process. According to the designed incinerator,the flow field in the incinerator is simulated,after proper simplification. The results show that the air speed of 2-3m/s is appropriate in the burner. Under this condition,particles of diameter larger than 2.3mm stay in the burner and particles of diameter less than 2.3mm enter the cyclone separator. The separator obtains particles of diameter larger than 0.25mm and particles of diameter less than 0.25mm flee out of the incinerator.The paper lays a foundation for further research of medical wastes clean combustion technology. It has notable economic,societal and environmental benefit and will boost popularization of medical wastes integrating control technology.
