To evaluate corrosion behavior of materials in the atmospheric environments rapidly and efficiently,the study of correlation between atmospheric exposure and laboratory-accelerated corrosion tests is one of main tasks for researcher in the corrosion & prevention field.In this paper,zinc and zinc coatings as testing materials,by means of corrosion data statistical analysis and corrosion product EDAX analysis,it is established that relative humidity,SO2 and Cl are the main environmental factors that affect the above materials . the atmospheric corrosion behavior of zinc and zinc coatings in Beijing,Wuhan,Jiangjin,Guangzhou are studied on corrosion kinetics,corrosion mechanism and corrosion products etc.According to the conclusion of relative humidity,SO2 and Cl" are the main environmental factors,We design there testing materials,namely,SO2 accelerated corrosion test;salt-spray accelerated test and SO2/salt-spray synergistic accelerated test. The behavior of zinc,A3 steel in this tests are studied .through analysis and comparation of testing results,it is established that SCVsalt-spray synergistic accelerated test is the best method for zinc and zinc coatings to simulate Beijing,Wuhan,Jiangjin,Guangzhou atmospheric environments. The corrosion behavior of zinc and zinc coatings in this laboratory-accelerated corrosion test are studied.The correlation between Beijing,Wuhan,Jiangjin,Guangzhou atmospheric exposure and SCVsalt-spray synergistic accelerated test is studied .It turn out that SCVsalt-spray synergistic accelerated test,to large extent,simulate atmospheric behavior of zinc and zinc coatings .
