Porous ceramics is a kind of inorganic non-metal material that mostly includes pores. High porosity is its remarkable property, and the surface, form, size and distribution of the pores is controllable. The highest porosity is up to 90%, and the pore size can be controlled from millimeter to nanometer by preparing processing. Compared with the traditional porous material, the porous ceramic possesses a unique set of property of high temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance, low density, low thermal conductivity and low dielectric constant, high surface area, high permeability, high resistance to chemical corrosion. The properties of porous ceramic are influenced by their relative density and the morphology, structure, size and distribution of the pores in the ceramic body. The ceramic is widely used in the field of metallurgy, chemical industry, building materials, biological chemistry, electronic engineering, food and beverage industry, environment protection, and so on. This paper introduced the process of preparation of micropore ceramic materials for filtration.1.Using wollastonite as main raw material, carbonate as pore-forming agent, and adding binder, the porous ceramic is prepared at 1050℃ by sintering method. The process includes batching, granulating, pressing molding, drying and sintering. The experiments are accomplished by changing sorts and dosage of binder and dosage of pore-forming agent, pressure, heat preservation time at different sintering temperature.2. These porous ceramic have 1~10 microns in pore size. 0.04~66.15% in porosity, 2.82 m2/g in specific surface area. The pH value of water solution of sample is 9.35-10.02, Zeta electric potential is 34.65mV.
