Steel conditioning is one of the most important working procedure to guarantee the final quality of the steel production and to increase the rate of producting by using grinding to remove oxide crack and defect on the surface of billet before billet, is rolled. The constent force grinding is necessary to guarantee the surface quality of grinded billet and to increase the rate of production . During the grinding process ,the good following characteristics of the grinding wheel loading system is required to change the grinding wheel position according to the oxide profile of billet surface as the surface of billet is not smooth. The point is that the following characteristic of the grinding wheel loading system is poorat present, and it can not meet the requirement of thehighperformance steel conditioning machine tool . And up to now the most .of steel conditioning machine tool of our country still use the backward technique of loading system . In this paper, an extensive reaserch on the dynamic chericteristicshas been carried out . The main work and the result of the paper are as follows:1. The fore on the grinding wheel loading mechanism of steel conditioning machine tool is analyzed theoretically. Analysis results show that the grinding wheel loading mechanism has a nonlinear and time-varing performance . The effects of force on the grinding wheel are investigated. The mathod for improving the folowwing characteristic is presented.2. Several of loading system are compared . Three-way proportional pressure reducing valve is used on steel conditioning machine for the first time and the dynamical characteristics of the hydraulic force control system isreseached in detail. In this paper, the mathematical model of the hydraulic force control system is developed and a lot of computer simulation and experiments are carried out .The paper provides theoretical basis for the design and application of engineering.
