The organic waste gas has been a big international hard nut in the realm of air pollution control for its low concentration and easy volatilization, a great deal of gas, the recovery valueless and seriously contaminating environment. The study abroad of treatment of organic waste gas by the bio-filter has gradually developed from the 1980s and achieved widely practicable application, but the respect of our country is still in the start stage at present. The treatment of organic waste gas by bio-filter has not only simple equipments, low operating costs but also low energy requirements, the avoidance of a second pollution. It can also improve the rate of wiping off the organic waste gas, and comparing to traditional method it possesses no analogous Superiority and security. Now it has been one of the front and hotspot question for discussion in the study of treatment of industrial organic waste gas.The assignment of this question for discussion is that the experiment researches are carried on by the low concentration and volatile organic contamination containing toluol in the bio-filter. The aim is to improve transfer process and find out the control conditions that are propitious to the biodegradable pollutants by microbe. Finally it is hope that this method can provide engineering practical application with theoretical thereunder.Fist of all, the dissertation introduces the development of history and current status of the bio-filter, and points out the theory and practice significance and potential prospect of engineering application. Secondly find out the high effective microbes which are trained, separated and domesticated to be fit to decompose special organic waste gas from three active sludge through the experimental contrast, and then process dynamic simulative experiment of low concentration organic waste gas by experimental design of bio-filter, and confirm the best performance parameter and affect factor of the bio-filter. At last, describe the reactive mechanism of low-density organic gas degraded by microbes in the bio-filter by the double-theca theory, and set up the kinetics model with the reasonably simplifying model.The result of experiment indicates that the biodegradable capability of tolual can be quickly increased by separated and domesticated microbe bacterium. There are many types of microbes in the bio-velum, but the main advantageous fungus isshort-bacilli, the secondary is subtilis bacilli and epiphyte. When the height of bio-filter is 400 millimeter the thickness of quality is controlled under lg/m3, the best time of contact between waste gas and strain stuff also should be 65 seconds and it is better to adopt the mode of backwash. The humidity of the strain stuff in the bio-filter should be controlled between 45% and 65%, the optimum PH should be from 7 to 8 and temperature 35C. The rate of biodegradation can reach a maximum of 50g/(m3.h) and The rate of wiping off the tolual over 90%. It can possess a rather strong ability of cushion to tolual if some active carbon is appended in the strain stuff .The treatment of waste gas of tolual by bio-filter is a transfer process that is mainly controlled by gas-film. The experimental parameter is well in accordance with the parameter of the theoretical kinetics model.
