Research On Diagnosis And Reference System For Water Security

Sustainable Development is the catchphrase in the world after the summit conference of environment and development in Rio de Janeiro of Brazil in 1992. Sustainable Development demands sustainable use of water resource, however, in many countries especial developping countries, the use of water resorce is not sustainable now. Morever, conditions become worse: the shortage of water resource, the increasing loss due to flood, the deterioration of enviroment. Based on these points, this thesis puts forward the concept of Water Security.The essence of Water Security is to maintain water demand at a suitable level and rebuild the sustainable water resource use within a time limit. Water Security is an all-inclusive idea, this thesis emphasizes particularly on the parts as follows:1. The indicators system of Water Security is devised after putting forward the concept of Water Security and explaining the basic connotation of Water Security.2. After presenting the historical origins and basic connotation of Sustainable Develepment and Water Resource Sustainable Use, this dissertation puts forward an analysis between Water Security and Water Resource Sustainable Use.3. Based on the indicators system of Water Security, this thesis develops and establishes the observation standard and Diagnosis and Reference System in accordance with the Water Security.4. It gives a case study in Beijing. After evaluating the degree of Water Security and discussing the dimensions and themes of dynamic scenarios in Beijing, some conclusions are drawn to upgrade water security degree in Beijing.
