Fermentation is an important method used in refinement of Chinese herbal medicine, many traditional medicines were refined through fermentation, Huaier chuji-a. new national medicine is also made through fermentation on herbal medium. But the quantity of this group is small and the category of the fungi used in medicine refinement is few. Although Mushroom have come to themselves in the recent years, only some special kinds of mushroom were used in medicine refinement. The goal of this study was to widen the particular content of nerbal refinement and apply the up-to-date fermentation technique to the refinement of herbal medicine. By this way we hope to unite the merit of mushroom and Chinese herbal medicine.The fermentation test result show that compared with other nutritional source, Pueraria lobata is more suitable to the growing of the test fungi, especially to Pleurotus nebrodensis. The Pleurotus nebrodensis grow on Pueraria lobata reach its maximum of 2. 32g/100ml 48 hours ahead than that of control, which is grow on common medium.The antioxidant activity test show that the Pleurotus nebrodensis grow on Pueraria lobata has stronger anti-lipidperoxidation ability and life lengthen ability than its control. Pleurotus nebrodensis can especially reduce the heart and liver MDA of the CCl4 poisoned mouse, no matter it is grow on common medium or Pueraria lobata, and the Pleurotus nebrodensis grow on Pueraria lobata is especially better than the mixture of Pueraria lobata and the Pleurotus nebrodensis grow on common medium. The Pleurotus nebrodensis grow on Pueraria lobata can notable lengthen the maximum life-span of Drosophila melanogaster, while the other test groups have no life lengthen ability. Other tests show the water extract of the Pleurotus nebrodensis grow on Pueraria lobata have stronger anti-lipidperoxidation ability than its control, which is grow on common medium, While the alcohol extract has similar antioxiant ability as itscontrol. The test on other fungi get the similar result, while the alcohol extract of Pleurotus eryngii has stronger antioxidant activity than its control.All the above tests show that the Pleurotus nebrodensis grows vigorous in submerged culture medium with Pueraria lobataand the product has strong antioxidant activity and life-span lengthen ability than its control, which proved the possibility of mushroom ferment on china herbal medical medium.
