One of the challenges that refiners are facing is that the crudes are becoming inferior and heavier while market and environmental regulations require more and more light and clean fuels. How to improve product quality from different feeds with minimizing risks and low expenses is a common subject to refiners especially to those who process middle East crudes. The main problem to process the middle East crude is to reasonably utilize high sulphur crudes. Hydrotreating technology for residue on fixed-bed is one of effective means to utilize sour crueds from today's oil refining level. In response to the requirement arising from proessing imported Middle East crude oil,We developed new residue guard catalysts -, demetallization catalysts and desulfurization catalysts.Physicochemical properties of the new catalysts were greatly improved. The running results showed that activity of new residue hydrotreating catalysts are better than that of imported catalysts.New catalysts can meet the demand of the refineries for long-term operation.Besides,in this paper, Mo 82 nanocrystals with diverse morphologies were successfully fabricated by precipitation methods. The influence of the calcinating temperature and polymer dispersant on the size and morphology of MoSa nanocrystals were investigated.
