Today, the alloy tube that has thin wall, large ratio of length in axial direction to radius dimension has been used in wide-ranging. And it required extraordinary precision and quality in some special field. However the traditional machining method, which machines the workpiece by turning tool and boring cutter respectively, has lots of disadvantages, such as complex technical processes, low production efficiency and precision stability and high costs. For the purpose of improving the productivity, a new machining method named double-tool cutting, which machines the workpiece by turning tool and boring cutter at the same time, and a type CNC machine tool TD6163 which implements double-tool cutting has been developed.To meet the needs of large production, a new type CNC machine tool which is based on the double-tool cutting technique and the TD6163 machine tool is developed in this paper. The cutting parameters are acquired by series of experiment. And compared with the TD6163 machine tool, the production efficiency of the XL1003 machine tool is improved by 50%.Some problems occurred to the double-tool cutting technics process, such as deforms caused by the vibration of workpiece. A series of optimized techniques to improve the rigidity and decrease the cutting vibration of the workpiece during machining are proposed. A vibration-eliminate device and a special finial device are invented to complete these optimized techniques. Methods to solve these problems are also tested by cutting experiments.Dynamic characteristic analysis of the main part of the machine tool though experimental mode method is practised.The model of cutting system and the vibration-eliminate system are founded by use of the software Pro/E. And the simulation of cutting process is made by use of the software 3DS MAX in this paper.
