Philosophy Inquirement Into The Sustainable Development Theory

In recent years, the research on sustainable development became one of the heated issues. Many scholars have raised lots of constructive opinions and views. However, because of the differences of individual standpoints, there are different explanations on the theory of sustainable development. The thesis probes into the problem of sustainable development from philosophical angle, i. e. from the methodology and the outlook of world. Through research into the basic implication of "development" and "sustainable development", the author inquires into ecology, development, and economy etc, which the sustainable development is related, and analyses philosophically the theoretical origin of the theory of sustainable development. Eventually the author proves the exploration and practice of the theory of sustainable development in China, expounds the unification of the scientific view of development and the view of sustainable development, and demonstrates that Developing Well-off Society in All Around Way must stick out the road of sustainable development in China. This thesis is written in four parts:Part 1, based on the statement of the essential implication of the "development", "sustainable development", the thesis defines the characteristics and implication of the sustainable development theory. Sustainable development means harmonious development of the ecology, the economy and the society. The sustainable development theory has several basic characteristics such as comprehensiveness, social historicity and practicality. Moreover Marx and Engels have studied the problem of the sustainable development long before.Part 2, particularizes the ecological dimension, the social dimension and the economics dimension of the sustainable development theory. Ecological ethics and environmental ethics form the most essential basic of philosophy theory. The thesis gives a profound analysis separately to the man-centredism, biocentredism and ecology-centredism. And meanwhile the research on the sustainable development theory can not exist without the positive economic analysis, this thesis gives aeconomic analysis to the sustainable development theory through the basic economic conception of natural resource and its scarce, efficiency and utility, increase and limit. Human as the subject of the social and historical activity is the essence and the center of the sustainable development theory, thus the investigation in the social dimension on sustainable development theory analyze on the aspects of its rich human implication.Part 3, the analysis of origin of the sustainable development theory. It has material, epistemological and ethics origin. They deride from development economics, futures and ecological ethics.Part 4, The new view of development is all-round human development and all-round social progress. This part proves the exploration and practice of the theory of sustainable development in China, expounds the unification of the scientific view of development and the view of sustainable development, and demonstrates that Developing Well-off Society in All Around Way must stick out the road of sustainable development in China.
