Design and fabrication of the high precise high-reflective coating in vacuum are explored theoretically and experimentally.On the basis of Maxwell system of equation, characteristic matrix of the film and admittance matrix describing the electric field intensity and magnetic field strength between the outer surface and inner one of the film system is deduced. The high-reflective film system is designed by optimizing the classical film system. The results indicate that the 23 layers high-reflective coating of TiOi/SiOi could achieve the aim of high reflectance in the working band by the optimization. The wastage of the film is discussed, and the method of reducing it is found.Numerous experiments and a series of testing have been carried out. The results indicate that the optical performance and coating quality have been improved drastically by using ion-assisted deposition technology in the vacuum deposition, in comparison with the traditional thermal vapor deposition.The studies suggest that the antireflection coating has excellent properties as the result of film design, and will be widely used in the fiber optical communication industries and laser field.
