The piston is widely used in the engine currently. A lathe with a line motor as U axis is usually used to cut the piston. Due to the shortcoming of control methods and control parameters etc.,the tolerance of the machined piston is often out of the allowed range. To obtain the precise result, the user must adjust the parameters of the control system manually. To obtain the precise result without adjusting the parameters, the control method must be redesigned. In the thesis, a control system model is built to show the real performance and the characters of the line motor. And a series of relative test and analysis GUI tools are developed at the same time. By analysing the simulation results, a figure is created to show the relationship between shape tolerance and control parameters, etc. .Combining the project of Tsinghua University and Guangzhou machine tools, "the study of control system of the piston lathe GCNCP-2000", the following researches are done in the thesis. The simulation model of the control system is built with using Matlab and Simulink. The factors that would cause the errors during the simulation is discussed and a relative strategy is used to reduce the errors. The characteristics of the simulation data is analysed carefully. A conclusion of the shape tolerance is drawn out.A good dynamic characteristic is achieved by adjusting the control system parameters. The factors which would cause the errors is found out by analysing the DSP control system characters. Finally, a summary of the research in development and analysis of the control system of GCNCP-2000 is given at the end of thesis. The future reseaches is discussed too.
