With white external appearance, precipitated and hydrated silicon dioxide has the similar function of repairing the strong in rubber to carbon, so call it white carbon again. For its superior stability, repairing the strong and increasing the dense etc., it has been one kind of important fillers. For its special surface framework (with surface hydroxide and adsorbed water), special grain shape (little particle, great compare exterior area) and physical chemistry characteristic, white carbon was applied to an abroad field, such as rubber, plastic, dope, medicine and daily chemistry etc. In this paper, the carbonization technology and surface modification were studied systematically.The production of white carbon usually adopts hydrochloric acid method or sulfuric acid method, and the craft is more mature. In consideration of exhausting industry waste gas carbon dioxide too much in recent years and causing the green house effect that result in atmospheric-circulation and climatic abnormality, so the carbonization technology of preparing white carbon was studied in this paper. Using limekiln gas which was exhausted during theprocess of producing calcium carbide to reaction with water glass, did single-factor experiments and discussed the effect of factors on carbonization process, ratio of production and performance of product ,such as temperature and time of reaction, the density of raw material and carbon dioxide etc. And analyzed experimental phenomena and microcosmic character on theory. Than obtained techniques parameters under which prepares fine comprehensive produce. All this provided the technique support to call backing limekiln gas and industrialization of preparation white carbon using carbonization method.As fillers, common white carbon can increase the quality of the ware such as enduring heat, bearing grind, firmness and being machined, and can depress the cost of the ware. But common white carbon powder is hydrophilic inorganic compound, with stronger hydrophilic hydroxide group on the surface, it present stronger alkaline. The character of hydrophilic and distant oil makes white carbon difficultly close with high polymer, and easily polymerize. That results in bad dispersion in the internal of high polymer. Consequently results in interface blemish between two material and ineffective of direct application. Therefore, for increasing the function of repairs the strong and the dispersion in the reunited material and improving physical function that white carbon fills reunited material, it is necessary that adopts different activators to modify the surface of white carbon, then develops its applied realmand make it becomes a kind of functional and repairing strong and active filler. In this article it is also studied that prepared active white carbon by modifying its surface .It is a hotspot in the field of researching new inorganic material.Several new activators were used in the surface activation of white carbon to deal with white carbon surface, such as PEG (6000), PEG (10000), PEG (20000), SDBS, CMC-15 and KH-550, and some characters of the active white carbon were investigated as following: granularity distributes, DBP absorption etc., and tested the red spectrum. It resulted that if choose fit activators and fit comparative quantity, such as PEG (6000) or KH-550, the ratio of production will be increased, granule of the product is small, grain distribution is even, compare surface area is great, DBP absorption is high compared with common white carbon.Based on the single-factor experiments, orthogonal experiments were designed to prepare common or active white carbon, did direct perceptional analysis and square difference analysis, and gained optimum technical condition under which prepared common or active white carbon. Did linearity regression on data of orthogonal experiment, and gained linearity regression equation about ratio and affect factors.In the end, the calculation of material and cost of common and active white carbon was done.
