The paper has studied on mechanism of the spontaneous combustion of anthracite both on experiment and theory, on the basis of the problem of spontaneous fire in No. 5 Yangquan Coal Mine and the achievements from the home and abroad about it. And has build up the mathematical models and solution of the foremost spontaneous combustion period through the theory of chemical reaction between coal and oxygen and thermodynamics and heat transfer theory.Through physical and chemical test and analysis, it has carried out the test of structure characteristic of coal and mineral, experiments of absorb-oxygen capacity and velocity, high-temperature oxidation experiments, low-temperature oxidation experiments, oxidation performance measurement in low-temperature period, which explored a technical and effective approach to the research of spontaneous combustionAccording to the analysis and study on these experiments, it has made a further understand of the mechanism of spontaneous combustion of anthracite, and has focused on the cause of seriously spontaneous combustion of 1 5# coal seam in No. 5 Yangquan Coal Mine. That is, firstly, due to the low specific heat capacity, the low ignition point and easiness to spontaneous combustion. Secondly, it is due to the great oxygen-absorbing capacity of coal sample, the high oxygen-absorbing velocity, the high oxidation ability of carbopyrite, the great heat given out by oxidation process, and the shortness of the foremost spontaneous period. Finally, it is due to the abundance of copperas and pyrite iron in coal seam, some marcasite ore, which heightened the possibility and the fatalness of spontaneous.The thesis has put forward the qualitative evaluation method on spontaneous combustion of anthracite, through the mechanism of which, that is to test its physical and chemical characteristic, such as grindability index, specific heat capacity,oxygen-absorbing capacity, oxygen-absorbing velocity, law-temperature oxidationcharacteristic, oxidation heat production characteristic, to calculate it's the foremostspontaneous combustion period, to gain the dynamics parameter, and then to analyze withconsidering of the geological structure, mining and ventilation condition. The study onthe mechanism of spontaneous combustion of anthracite will be well basic for furtherresearch.
