In this paper, based on nonlinear FEA software ANSYS/LS-DYNA, a spinning process analysis software, TX1.0 is developed firstly. This software can be used for process analysis of work-pieces of cylinder, stepped cylinder, tapered cylinder or cylinder with ribs. The software involves 3-D parametric modeling and parametric meshing, explicit dynamic resolving, Windows style interface designing using C++6.0/MFC, OOP etc. It operates friendly and has high efficiency and wide practicability.Using TX1.0 the reverse spinning force of cylinder is simulated. The effects of parameters such as wall thickness, thickness reduction and diameter of workpiece, feed ratio, radius of roller's round corner on the lateral, axial,tangential and sum forces are obtained. Based on these results, by using orthogonal design method in the distribution of those parameters, a new formula for spinning force evaluation is set up with regression analysis method and is compared with other theoretical formulas.Furthermore, the reason for, and the main factors in the offset loading are investigated. After analyzing the effects of wall thickness asymmetry and mandrel location deviation on the offset load using TX1.0, a conclusion can be drawn from the results, that the ratio of offset load force to rated radial force is far less than 30% as estimated generally.
