Tetragonal schelite-like NaY( WO4) 2 single crystals doped with Nd and Yb have been grown by Czochralski method. Differential thermal analysis experiments show the crystal melting point is at 1211℃ . The crystallographic structure of the lattice has been refined, being the lattice constants a=b=0.5212nm, c=1.1268nm, V=0.3062nm3. The conditions of the Cz-pulling procedure are described in detail. Raman scattering and IR absorption spectrum of these crystals are investigated. The optical absorption and photolummescence properties of Nd3+ and Yb3+ have been characterized.
