In this paper,it was studied that the graft copolymerization of starch and Acrylic acid (AA) was synthesized by two different methods-the one-step-synthesis method and the microwave method and that several super absorbent polymer capability were measured and its application in corn and cotton seedling was analyzed.We concluded that the best conditions in the one-step-synthesis method were starch (wet base) 5.8g,AA 20ml,the degree of counteract 60%, 20g/l K2S2O8 solution 3ml, 0.8% concentration glycerin solution 3ml,reation temperation 70℃ and the best conditions in the microwave method were starch (wet base) 3.8g,AA 20ml, the degree of counteract 40%, 20g/l K2S2O8 solution 7ml, BIS 0.02g,the power of microwave 1053w.The best ratio of starch and AA in the one-step-synthesis method was 1:4 of sweet potato and corn starch,l:6 of sticky corn starch,l:7 of wheat starch and ester of phosphoric acid wheat starch,and in the microwave method was 1:6 of sweet potato starch, 1:8 of corn starch and ester of phosphoric acid wheat starch, 1:9 of wheat starch.But the sequence of absorbency in the two methods was same,from high to low was sweet potato starch, sticky corn starch, wheat phosphoric acid starch, wheat starch and corn starch.Adding acrylamide(AM) to polymerize AA and starch could not improve the ability of absorbency in the two methods.Adding PVA to polymerize AA and starch can get higher absorbency polymer in the microwave method.Low concentration glycerin solution (0.8%) had good effect in improving the ability of absorbing water as crosslinking agent in the one-step-synthesis method.The best dosage range was 0.25ml~0.4ml.And BIS was especially suitable to microwave way as crosslinking agent. 0.015g~0.025g was its best dosage range.Poly-crylic acid natrium, formaldehyde ,kaoline epichlorohydrin, can also be used as crosslinking agent but can not improve absorbency ability very well.Through comparing the ability of absorbency of four different super absorbent polymer: A: SPACPKsh-i B: SPACPKsh-ii C: SPACPKsh-IIi D: PACPksh-I ,We got the result, that SPACPrsh-iii can absorb high concentration KOH solution and CaCh solution as much as 80 times to 4% KOH solution and 10 times to 4% CaCl2 solution, but that another three kinds super absorbent polymer can not absorbhigh concentration KOH solution and CaCl2 solution.The four kinds of super absorbent polymer all had ability to absorb artifical urine and artifical blood.But SPACPKSH-IIIhad higher absorbent ability than others.It can reach 59 times in absorbing artifical urine and 98 times in absorbing artifical blood. SPACPKSH-IIIand PACPksh- I can absorb artifical blood nearly double to manual urine while PACPksh- I can absorb high concertration glycerin.Super absorbent polymer was a good anti-drought corn and cotton seedling for it can film well on corn and cotton seed.Through analysis on physiological character such as germination rate,stem length and weight,root length and weight,the leaf weight etc.of different ratio of seedling ,we concluded that 1: 60-1: 70 was the best ratio of seedling on corn seed while 1:60 was the best ratio on cotton seed.Through analysis on biochemical target such as MDA(malonaldehyde), chlorophyll,and PPO(polyphenol oxidase) of different ratio of seedling we concluded that the super absorbent polymer seedling had activity role in improving chlorophyll content and PPO enzyme activity ,lowing MDA content of corn and cotton seed.
