Based on the general review of the research method and history of the heat and moisture transfer through clothing, a new theoretical model that could be used to derive the distribution of temperature and moisture in fabrics is proposed in this thesis. The classical conservation theories of mass, energy and momentum are combined with the geometrical, physical features of fibers, yarns, and fabrics in order to get the mathematical descriptions of the transport phenomena in a volume unit including phase-change, absorption and desorption process etc. for fabric with different constructions. In this paper, the mathematical model is three-dimension discreted by means of the implicit difference method. The computer program to simulate the heat and moisture transfer through fabrics has been designed in MATLAB.We have used this model to analysis the heat and moisture transfer through the yarn and air between the yarns. At the point they cross, we use a special method to analysis the heat and moisture transfer. We analysis the heat and moisture transfer process through different fabric. Through the analysis, we concluded that the heat and moisture transfer is influenced by the shape of the yarn.
