Based on the general review and analysis of the research on the heat and moisture comfort in clothing, we find that there hasn't been a comparatively complete theoretical model and a systematic simulating method. The micro-climate directly contacts the human beings, so its state parameters determine the comfort of human beings in clothing. At present, most researchers neglect the effect of air-layer and consider the fabric material as the only factor to determine the heat and moisture comfort of human beings. Although some researchers recognize the effect of air-layer on heat and moisture comfort of human beings, they regard the air-layer as a fixed heat resistance and a fixed moisture resistance. Our research illuminates that the method mentioned above is unapt during simulating the dynamic heat and moisture transfer process in clothing.In the model, the garment air layer (including the micro-Climate) is regarded as the object. According to the concept of characteristic unit of volume, we apply the continual media approach and the basic laws about heat, mass and momentum transfer. At the same time, many phenomenon are taken into account, such as the heat conduction, convection, radiation, phase transformation and so on. Then a new physical and mathematical model is established, in which the laws about the change of temperature field, wet concentration field, gas phase field and velocity field in the garment air layer, are well reflected. Accordingly, the main parameters in this model are analysed.We take finite difference method to discretely analyse our mathematical model. A Matlab language program is designed to simulate the various states of human beings during wear. In addition, by virtue of this computer programe, we can acquire the instant distribution of temperature field, the vapour pressure field and velocity field inside the garment air. And the laws about the change of these parameters can also be got.We use the theory and experimental data accepted by many researchers to validate our model, and the result shows that our model is correct.
