As a waste, the harm of waste rock have been paid a great attention. Separation technique of coal and gangue on the ground has been researched for a long time, and a great progress has also been made. But by now, there are no countries study the technique which separates coal and gangue directly in the colliery.The purpose of this paper is solving the problem of separation on working. It provides a way for selective crushing and separation of coal and gangue. The feasibility of selective crushing and separation of coal and gangue is explained by a lot of experiments firstly. Secondly, a new type of machine which can separate coal and gangue is introduced, at the same time its force analysis and kinematics analysis are also explained. At last, using selective crushing and separation machine of coal and gangue, three major factors named rotate speed, block size and force aremeasured by orthogonal test which affect crushing and separation. The important degrees of three major factors, their optimum match scheme are obtained by analyzing the experiment results, which can offer some basic data for the study and design for the future.
