Study On New Sulfur Dioxide Passive Samplers And Simple Device For Mornitoring Sulfur Dioxide Based On Sol-Gel Technology

Passive sampler are paid much attention because of their small volume, light and needing no power. It is useful for environmental inspection and personal exposure study in polluted environment.Based on the previous passive sampler, a new type of sulfur dioxide passive sampler was developed in this thesis. Different kinds of carriers, such as filter paper and liner were studied. Trethanolamine was used as the main absorbent. Different modifiers, such as ethylene glycol and glycerol were added to improve the sensitivity of the sampler in low temperature and high humidity areas.SO2 indicator was also studied based on Sol-Gel technique. Malachite green was used as indicator reagent which would be de-color by SO2 in ambient air. The formatting conditions of the malachite green built in Sol-Gel were investigated.
