Study on dynamics of residual of sulcotrione in soil and maiz through HPLC and its adsorption and desorption had been done in this paper.Sulcotrione was added in soil, plant and grain to get recovery. The added level in soil, plant and grain was 0.02-0.20mg/kg, 0.05-0.50 mg/kg and 0.05-0.50 mg/kg respectively. The average recovery was 97.80-101.80%, 83.15-86.14% and 80.44-81.99% accordingly.The dissipation equation of sulcotrione in soil in 2002 was C=2.3069e-0.0398, half-time wasT1/2=17.4d. It in 2003 was C=2.0432e-0.0427, half-time was T1/2=16.2d. At the same time the equation in foliage in 2003 was C=10.1981e-0.01012 and the half-time was 6.8d. Sulcotrione could not be detected in harvest. So it is safety to succeeding plants.The solulity in water is high, and it threatens to the groundwater. So the adsorption and desorption of sulcotrione in soil should be studied.If pesticide went into water, its study on speed of dydrolysis is necessary. The adsorption and desorption of sulcotrione in soil were studied by the equilibrium method. Three different soil types were used in the study. The rates of adsorption were all less than 50% and Kd< 5. The adsorption of sulcotrione corresponded to the equation of Freundlin. The results showed that: the absorption in soil was weaker. The rate of desorption was high. It showed that the mobility of sulcotione was little high. I measured Kow and its speed of dydrolysis. LogKow < 1 meant that sulcotrione could not be accumulated in life-form easily . The rate of dydrolysis was low. 40 days after its dydrolysis, the rate of dydrolysis was not more than 30%. And the conditions of water (temperature and pH) almost could not affect dydrolysis.So I suggest that the dose of applycation of sulcotrione should be controlled well in order to lessen the possibility of groundwater pollution.
