Remote sensing and GIS technology are new methods for desertification research, which take easy to evaluate desertification. Take farming-grazing transitional zone in Inner Mongolia as example, this paper analyzed its dynamic change and influence factor with remote sensing and GIS technology.The first, desertification geography information system is designed. which is formed of three subsidiary systems. The subsidiary systems are data-manage system, information of desertification inquire system and model-manage system. On the basis of delimit boundary line, desertification geography information system is set up. In this paper, using information of the system, analyzed the desertification dynamic change. The conclusion is as follows: desertification is serious in middle part region and Xi-liao-he region; In last ten years, change of wind erosion desertification is the fast, change of water erosion desertification comes second, change of saline desertification is least.At the same time, influence factor are analyzed in detail.In last part, the prevention and cure of desertification countermeasure is put forward.
