The fire of coal seam is the one of the natural fatal disaster in mine. The fire of coal seam is different from others, and it has unique characteristic. For example, the site of fire is latent, the quantity of heat in loose coal is emitted difficultly. So it is not easily to prevent and cure the fire of coal seam. Commonly used Fire-fighting techniques, like injecting Nitrogen, injecting water, injecting slurry, etc, can't extinguish large area of coal seam fire completely in fairly short period of time. Composite colloid is a newly development effective fire fighting material against coal seam fire. The technique to extinguish coal seam fire with composite colloid is to transport dense slurry through pipeline to the fire zone tens of kilometer away in coalmine, then add some gel material into slurry, and then inject it into fire area. Transportation of dense slurry through pipeline may cause deposition and block the pipeline, and this becomes key problem which hinders development of the technique. So studying properties of dense slurry in pipeline, studying critical concentration and velocity of transportation, and developing suspending is very important for composite colloid fire fighting technique.The capability of various suspended-material are studied in this article. The best proportion of sick-colloid-additive is ascertained through a serials of experiments. Slurry with this sick-colloid-additive has better quality of suspension, and deposition tuned difficult, the problem of blocking pipeline is avoided. Flow resistance characteristic of this material affect technics of quenching a fire greatly. The small flow resistance of colloid in pipeline is advantageous to transport, and can decrease the danger of blocking pipeline. Round the section of coal seam with fire, the big flow resistance of colloid in coal seam is advantageous to isolate the fire, stop leaking out air. Then the effect of putting out a fire is better. To study flow resistance characteristic of new sick-colloid, flow pipeline experimental apparatus is designed and established according to resemble simulation, based on which the experiments in resistance characteristics and velocity distributing are made. The rule of resistance and resistance coefficient of colloid slurry is obtained under different velocity of flow. The result of research indicate that mucosity of slurry is enhanced because of sick-colloid-additive. Compared with the result of pure slurry, the margin of pressure is decreased obviously under definite velocity. The resistance coefficient is decreased correspondingly. This make out that sick-colloid-additive has evidence effect in decreasing resistance. This can perfect theory of pipeline transportation, enhance application level of transporting colloid, promote application of colloid technic. The investigation result is particular value to engineering application.
