Planetary gear differential is the most important part in horizontal screw decanter centrifuge which can decides the operational capability of centrifuge.The first part of this paper is the finite element analysis of planetary gear differential in horizontal screw decanter centrifuge. It builds entity model in ProE then lead it to ANSYS, analyses stress of mating process of planetary gear differential and find stress distribution. It reaches the max stress when the contact points locate in where the single gear contact area of drive gear is near the root. This provides good example in theory and analysis of planetary gear differential.The second part of this paper is the analysis of rotor dynamics of horizontal screw decanter centrifuge 1200. It collects data of mechanical mode in ProE used in vibration, compile program of vibration character of horizontal screw decanter centrifuge in MATLAB. It calculates the previous ones critical speed of revolutions and unbalance response atevery location and compares it with the result of ANSYS.The result indicates that the working speed of horizontal screw decanter centrifuge 1200 is far below the first critical speed and the resonance vibration will not occur. It finds the max amplitude of vibration in unbalance response is at dewatering area The vibration calculation in this paper has a actual and reference value in future research in horizontal screw decanter centrifuge and same two-rotor structure.
