The horizontal screw decanter centrifuge is a separation machine, which is always usedin industrial production. The drum is one of its core parts. Through rationally designing thedrum, we could not only ensure the normal function of centrifuge but also can gained thetechnology economy benefit. It has actual significance to make structure static analysis andmode analysis of the drum.We applied3D software Pro/E to design LW170centrifuge visually and simulate theframework work process to the drum and the conveyor; applied ANSYS to analyze dynamiccharacteristic, including structure statics, mode and structure parameter.The drum is pressed to centrifugal force of its own quality and centrifugal hydraulicpressure, we obtained its stress and displacement distribution through structure static analysisin any circumstance, which can judge if the drum has enough strength and lesser radialdeformation. The result indicates that the strength and the deformation satisfy request of thedrum.We apply Lanczos method to analyze the mode of the drum, gained anterior5stepinherence frequencies and the first viberation figure. The result is that the drum has noresonance at normal rotate speed.Through changing the rotate speed, half taper angle and unrestricted liquid surface radii,etc, we studied the influence of intensity and deformation with every parameter changing,which can provide the basic of structure optimize design.
