In this paper, four tasks of polymers' pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography /Mass spectrometry(PY-GC/MS) were researched:1. Polyacrylonitrile and several copolymers of acrylonitrile: acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer(AS), acrylonitrile butadiene rubber(NBR), acrylonitrile butadiene-styrene(ABS) were researched by PY-GC/MS. These polymers' monomers and characteristic pyrolytic products were obtained. It grounds unknown polymers' identification.2. hi the analysis of core-shell polyacrylic resin(ACR)'s PY-GC/MS, ACR's composition was obtained. Its core is cross-linking butyl acrylate; Its shell is polymethyl methacrylate. Core and shell are grafted.3. In the PY-GC/MS analysis of cornstarch, oxidized cornstarch, positive ion cornstarch, potato starch and graft polymerization of potato starch and acrylamide, cornstarch's pyrolytic characteristic products and pyrolytic difference of those modified starch were obtained.4. At last, the PY-GC/MS data of polymers researched in this paperand appeared in part of literature was summed up. Then the data was inputted into database. At the same time, the interface operating database was designed in Active Server Page(ASP), PY-GC/MS database's search, maintenance and update were realized. As a result, readers' time will be saved by a long way.In a word, PY-GC/MS is proved to be an efficiency tool to analyze these polymers by the article's experiment. It need only a little sample and its separate is unnecessary before the sample's analysis. In addition, PY-GC/MS can analyze solid polymer and ordinary GC/MS can't do that. Not only the compounds of polymers but also many information of polymers' structures can be obtained by PY-GC/MS.
