Decanter centrifuge is a popular centrifuge in industry. It has become the main processing tool in mechanical dewatering of slurry. The study on the decanter centrifuge is important. The decanter centrifuge comprises a bowl having a cylinder and a conical beach, together with a conveyer inside the bowl conforming to the profile of the bowl and rotation at a differential speed as compared to the bowl. In order to modify TS850ZK decanter centrifuge, the paper does some basic computations about its capacity and dynamic of cake inside the bowl. Further, the power of decanter centrifuge is computed in detail as it conveys the slurry. By using the transfer matrix-impedance method, the paper establishes the mechanical model and discusses the critical speed, vibration type and transient response. When computing the mechanical model, the author uses PRO/E which is a software for engineering to obtain some useful information. Because MATLAB is handy, the paper uses it to program. And the program has successfully computed the critical speed, vibration type and transient response. The program can compute the decanter centrifuge's amplitude of vibration when the decanter centrifuge is forced in various positions. In the study, the author has devoted considerable effort to model and to program. The MATLAB programs are fit to analyze the rotordynamics of other double rotors systems.
